i dunno as long as it stays out of the code and php tags then its just fixing people from using the horrible language of aol. when does it really affect you?

The filtered text shows in blue so it's usually obvious. But until we make some changes it's possible to send html (numbered) entities on phpBB and have them parse as text.

r => r for starters ;)

Code: Select all

<?
$r = 'u';
$val = ' r ';
?>

Code: Select all

<input name="e;cool r val"e;>
??? i dont see a problem

Thats exactly the thing.. from my point of view, it didn't ruin the fun - it fixed a problem with *so* many users today (AOLspeak/leetspeak). Its obnoxious having to read every third word and translating leetspeak to english, especially when they want help!

The translations don't hit code or php tags, and *really* have improved the overall quality of the forums in my opinion. Definitely not a bad thing, definitely don't want to see it removed.
