Before the recent site maintenance, the syntax coloring for PHP tags is cool as in like viewing my editor. But now, the beauty is gone. I have to choose about using PHP or CODE tags for better viewing.

It's not that I am complaining about this, but i like the previous syntax coloring more than how it is now.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT...

unfortunately, the previous ones are not easy to install in phpbb, as it modifies a LOT of code..

I wouldn't say it's bad. Just a little out of whack at the moment. And from what I understand.. being dilligently worked on. =)

It's a mess right now but it should be fixed soon. We can't have a php forum without php highlighting...

The problem is phpBB basically. I don't have the time to study its tortuous code and then figure out how to restore the old php tag mod. To a test-infected OOP bigot like me it's basically unmaintainable - not a unit test in sight. It's like trying to paint wearing a blindfold.

That would be an awesome feat... Im sure you'd do it for money... But you're getting none. Why not switch to a different BB script? Yes it's more work, but are there more maintainable scripts out there? I know a friend I used to talk to all the time wrote his own php-based database-driven forum script (Although where to get it is unknown as he vanished a couple months back...)

ultimately I'm going to write some new forum software but it'll be a long term project.
