lost my password

Post by aaaphp000000 »

hi,
my PC encountered virus, I have to re-install all: so I lost my all info.
I even can not remember my user-name.

when I use your "lost password", it asks for 2 fields (user-name and email).

so I have to re-register as a new user.

I suggest that the field "user-name" should be removed for "lost password" feature.

user-list can not jump: so i can not find my user-name there - it starts with 'm' or 'p'.

I m sure with a little patience you will find it. so find it. the user name field is a required one and cannot be removed even if they also want it.Without username how do I know if its you or someone else... IPs are highly unreliable as mentioned everywhere. So I guess your only option is you search it out. I think even feyd or other mods will be unable to help in this matter.

php12342005 ?

It looks as if the above would be your username based on your IP and that being the only other user posting from it. Write it down ;)

hi,
it is my old user-name.

but, email address is unique and safe, i still think you just need email address for "lost password", no more.

cheers

This system is phpBB.... it's built like that ;)

It's not very secure asking for only one piece of information to reset somebody's password (especially an email). :?

If you registered aaaphp000000 with the same email address you registered php12342005 then it's now impossible to do a password reset based on email address anyway since there's more than one username on the address.

I'd suggest choosing usernames that are easier to remember for future reference.

Which username do you now plan to use? We do not allow multiple accounts unfortunately.
