Complete Programs

Post by s.dot »

A program section would be pretty sweet. Kind of like the 'Code Snippets' forum, only for complete programs ;). It would be kind of like a hotscripts.com but for devnetwork members only ;)

For instance.. photo galleries are pretty popular scripts.
as are upload scripts
web admin panels

etc.

It would be pretty cool to link members to an on-site script rather than an off-site one.

Just a thought :)

Not a bad idea or anything, but why build a hotscripts clone when the real hotscripts is much better.
But I do see where you are going with this, its a way for users to share thing's they've made.

I see your point. However, if a person is looking for a program, and can be directed towards a program written by another member, it would be much easier for that person to communicate with the author of the program. Plus it would encourage developers like myself to write some programs. :P

I've found that you can find out what other apps people have coded in this forum by clicking on signature links or visiting their homesites. There's quite a bit out there. Stuff you might not find googling or trolling about. ex. onion2k's ooer.com is a very cool place.

PHP Classes is only for classes. Complete programs, snippets, useful functions, all fall outside of its scope.

Thats why I'm working hard on the comeback of the Walrus.. something to fill the very neccesary gap.
