I suggest you add a HTML forum, why not?
HTML is strongly related to php.
when i have HTML questions, i have to go to other web-sits.

won't happen. Why? we already have one!

It's called
Client Side.

change that name to HTML to make things clear.
what does "client-side" mean? it means anything - users (one of them is me) are very confused.

PHP = Server
Browser = Client
The board supports more than just HTML, so no, I will not rename it.

If you read the description on that board it's for anything client-side: That's HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, Java Midlets/Applets etc etc....
It usually gets posts relating to JavaScript, CSS and (X)HTML...

do java and applets belong to client-side?
that is why i think you should have a HTML forum.
if you mix many to one, actually it means nothing.
people do not want to post questions on a mixed forum, trust me.

We can't have individual forums for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, VBScript XML etc etc... we don't actually get enough posts in those areas to warrant it. If we do start to get an excess of posts in a particular field then we could very well have a unique forum for it. If it runs in the browser then it's running on the client and is therefore client-side. Client-Side fits very nicely IMO. We do however, value your opinion and your input
Does anybody else think we need to have separate forums for this?

Actually, it means exactly what it says: Client-side. It lists the items that are included in that category, and we have over 700 posts in that category about "HTML".
Clearly, we don't need to "trust you". People already do post questions on that mixed forum, and it does mean something.
You made a suggestion. Several people have disagreed with the suggestion. The posts in that category disagree with your perception.
I'd say there isn't much more to discuss.

I don't think so... imo, 'html' as a forum topic would be too narrow, too simple. HTML+CSS+JavaScript maybe, but definitely not HTML by itself...

right, it is exactly what I want to say: of course, HTML forum includes CSS+JAVASCRIPT.
java should not be mixed to client-side and even not server-side, it should be just "java" or with sub-forums - but you do not need sub-forums because you focus on php issues.

Imho, there is nothing mixed. php development is usually done in a server/client environment.
1786 posts till now.. Isn't that proof that people _do_ want to post there?

Imho there is a serious difference between Java Applets (typically run at client-side) and Java Server Pages / Servlets which typically run at the (server-side). Therefor i wouldn't advise to place them all together in one forum..

Which is it?

Or..

Client side is HTML + CSS + Javascript (like YOU said above), and also includes other clientside technologies like flash. You seem to be totally fine with mixing multiple topics in a single forum - you just arent consistent about which, or about the definition that is already being used successfully here.
At the end of the day, the only question is whether people are posting in the right section already. They are, so clearly, people understand the definition of client-side, AND are comfortable posting in a mixed-topic forum section.
Plus, the mods already said it wouldnt change.
End of discussion.

I think you've argued your point enough now aaaphp000000
The verdict seems to unanomously suggest that the other members are happy with it as it is... as are the site admins and moderators.
