Sometimes, I find myself really wishing I could print out a topic and then read and reread it away from the computer. Could we install a printer mod like this one?

Just realised nobody responded to you

I'll bring this up with the guys... I tried the example pages but they just gave me errors :? Generally we're trying to cut down on mods that we have installed since ones like this which affect the template cause us a few tears when we've got multiple templates and when upgrading but i can see how this mod (if it works) could be useful.

It's not as powerfull as the plugin you suggested I imagine, but I wrote a greasemonkey script that might do something like what you want to do.

Hope that helps with what you wanted to do. If you have any suggestions as to how I can better it, I will be more than happy to put them into play.

I just tried a quick google and this was one of the mods it brought up. I agree: MODs are a pain to update.

The Greasemonkey script works to a certain extent. I'll look into to extending it so it can display the entire topic.

OK. Printing, even with the greasemonkey extension, is VERY painful (especially for 12 page topics). Any idea when even just a printer friendly /skin/ gets installed?

From the looks of things I don't a printer mod is going to be put on our To-Do list.. there is simply very little demand for such a mod and will cause much pain for those who have to upgrade the mods when new releases of phpbb come out.

Sorry.

I *could* make a printer friendly CSS for Sherbet. That won't help for your 12 page topics, but it could certainly clean it up.
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.
