Problem with search

Post by Jenk »

I didn't know where to post this, sorry.

I just tried to search for $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] with default options selected (topic and posts etc. etc.)

It finds multiple pages, 134000+ threads, but when I click page 2 it says nothing found?!

Just a heads up :)

I would say that's a bug in phpBB itself. Try using REMOTE_ADDR instead.

A bug? In PhpBB? No?! 8O :D And in the search feature of all places. I'm shocked. The PhpBB coders did a really good job of creating a solid search facility. It never fails to return good results. Hmm... must be something else.

Wow. Last week we were celebrating your 20000's post, and now already on 20397?? For how long will the db be able to handle this?

it certainly has problems paging my post list, so I can only imagine apocalyptic results in only a matter of time.. :)

Well, no worries. I guess that even if the db gets overloaded and starts loosing posts, you will still post faster then the db looses posts :)

I remember when a previous admin accidentally turned on auto-pruning  How annoying would that be feyd? You'd have to try and post faster than your post were being pruned.

I think it's pretty clear feyd has a subforum with access restriced to he alone, and a redundant machine with no meta redirects and a sticky F5 key on the submit post page, and a hired woodpecker to hit enter to accept the resubmission of post data.

What is being submitted, only feyd (and the woodpecker) knows ;)
