code snippets

What are the requirements for something to be posted in the code snippets forum? Who reviews it? How does one achieve "review" status? Is this being actively looked over?

Seems to me that the coding critique forum is used as a retention pond for this forum. That's a good idea! But after the code is critiqued and optimized/fixed/whatever, does a mod/admin have to be notified?

Perhaps better guidelines should be put in place. Currently as it stands, "popular" posts in the coding critique forum will make it into the snippets forum? But popular is very vague. ;)

Just curious. Not only for myself, but for other posts i've seen in there.

Basically if anybody wants a snippet posting they should first post in Critique (generally..) and then if the interest is there somebody should contact a moderator to request it be posted in snippets. A quick round of +1 or -1's from the guys behind the scenes and it will either be approved or declined :)
