ok...maybe the title was a bit vague...but check this out http://w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?filen ... formattext is something like this possible...if so that would be awsome...speaking for peeps like myself..i know it would help me out...troubleshoting parses and other errors...testing theory....showing tutorials at work...it could also help some to see what code does what...like "if i delete this what would happen" maybe inspre more to take a deeper look into php and mysql

i thought it was possibly a great tool so i suggested it to you moddies...final word is upto you guys...i just wanted to see what other people had to say about it as well as well as you moddies...its moreso of a suggestion than a general discussion so i didnt post it there, its not really a theory because its been done in another language...and i figured it would possibly be helpful if i put it here...what do you guys think?forum index wrote: We know you have an opinion on how things should be run around here.
These are suggestions for the forums, and the website.

@shiznatix=i was hoping that firstly we can trust that noone will do that(a naive hope i guess)...secondly i would think it wouldnt be conected to anything we have here...so if someone did try to do something stupid like hat it wouldnt work...then one of our moddies can possibly ban him via his ip address
@everah= yea...the local server is still a cool way to do it...but just wanted to see what you guys thought of something like that here...i thought it would make one heck of a tutorial tool
@Jcart=that actually sounds pretty fun

Sure, it may have potential, but I don't think it would be worth it when we find our forums have been deleted and replaced with porno sites.Obadiah wrote:@everah= yea...the local server is still a cool way to do it...but just wanted to see what you guys thought of something like that here...i thought it would make one heck of a tutorial tool

Sorry obi, that is horribly naive. Even if people weren't complete freaks and even if they didn't want to turn our community into a intergalactic vortex of porn-spam, new developers that did not know what they were doing could innocently destroy the living crap out of our site.Obadiah wrote:@shiznatix=i was hoping that firstly we can trust that noone will do that(a naive hope i guess)...secondly i would think it wouldnt be conected to anything we have here...so if someone did try to do something stupid like hat it wouldnt work...then one of our moddies can possibly ban him via his ip address
it does seem like alot of trouble now after hearing what you guys have to say...especially for such a small thing...if it was possible to create it in a way that it runs off of that persons local server instead of devnets that would be neat...like the person would need to have php [s]and mysql[/s] installed on their machine or server before testing(on second thought...that would only really work with php functions)since mySQL needs to access a DB...since most of the tough issues here is a combination of the 2 it is pretty pointless to have it just work for one
