[SOLVED] mod

Post by JAM »

You should add the solved mod again. Don't have to be the one I posted before, you could use a Greasemonkey script.
You should also try to make people understand why this titlechange is good to have, editing the rule/good-to-have-pages with this info.

I personally like the idea for two reasons; I don't need to open a topic that for example <insert guruname here> allready posted a solution to + People searching for help would benefit by getting [Solved] hits from search.php.

I wish education worked as well as most folks believe it to. It would be so nice to have members actually edit their own titles to say [solved]. I know I have done this for posters in the past, but it gets old really fast.

Perhaps this is something we can look into.

I've always thought that if you made it easy enough, the users might just learn the system. How about a button somewhere in the thread which only appears for the OP and mods - 1 click and the thread is labelled 'solved', perhaps by using a custom topic icon. Requiring them to edit the subject is asking too much of newcomers I think.

Yeah, we had that a couple of years ago. It was used, but not enough

Yah, I know what you mean. The mod made this alot easier as it just needs a simple press-of-a-button-solution, at least for mods. Of course, it's not up to the mods to do this alone, but hopefully as others see the [Solved] more often, they know how it should be used.

Well, at least I got to speak my mind about it. :D Thanks for listening.
