You need to have a page when new users register of what PHPDN is NOT...

1.) A Code Database... People will not just give you codes, use google.
2.) A Website to solicit work... Do not signup just to send people PM's for job hunting.
3.) A Fix-it Website... We give guidance, but were not going to do everything for you...

These three NOTs have been coming up a lot lately...

Any more?

That's sort of what I was suggesting in a recent post here. I get the impression that most of the regulars feel that it's still not going to get people to read it, but in my opinion, if it's kept VERY BRIEF, certainly less than one screen, it might stave off some of these. Let's face it (no offense to any of our younger readers), some of these posters are simply KIDS playing with programming for the first time. Now, I'm very supportive of young kids learning computer science skills, but like everybody else, I don't have time to explain basic principles to them, and certainly not do their homework. Of course, some of them who WRITE like they are 12 years old may be over 40. You never know.

This might be a limitation of the board software we use. It would be nice if there was a timed page that required a user stay on until a certain amount of time elapsed and then allowed registration.

Unfortunately all we can do is spank people that do not follow the rules and reinforce the rules whenever we get the chance.
