PHPDN more than PHP?

And there's always the danger our continual intellectual prattle will alienate our fellow PHP enthusiasts since we're all elitists at heart ;).

It's not so much the unwashed rabble (sorry, my most honourable PHP brothers and sisters ;)), it's the belief that anything not PHP must be anti-PHP. I can understand ignorance - we all have livings to earn and limited time to devote to hobbies (I'm lucky in that programming is a hobby - I rarely need to use an IDE at work anymore which is a double-edged benefit!) which is partly why I blog these things for the interested. But sometimes honest ignorance turns to blind tongue lashing with no thought behind it.

I think my point was that we are not all elitists at heart. I don't see the belief here that anything not PHP must be anti-PHP. Nor do I see other languages getting much, if any, tongue lashing. When we hear that PHP is an odd, amateurish, handicapped language, I think there is general agreement that it is probably true. It is not an inferiority complex, we are just trying to to get some work done in our limited time.
