Prevent less then # of posts from General Disccusion forum?
Really I think it bothers me more then the mods every time I see code threads in the General Discussion forum. Could you guys please set up at least like a two post count requirement before posting there?
Re: Prevent less then # of posts from General Disccusion forum?
That's not something (I think) that one can enable by default, and I'm not sure something we'd want to anyway. There are lots of mis-filed threads obviously, but there are also cases where a person's first post is in the "Say who you are" thread - we wouldn't want to dissuade people from commenting there.
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

Fair enough...
How about when posting for the first few times a gentle reminder to ensure that they're posting in the correct forums?

That's a better idea, though I'm positive that's not something phpBB does out of the box.

I think phpBB is rather limited in its capabilities for doing something like this. We could pay for a forum software that does it, but I am certain there is something free out there that can do this.
Of course I am not necessarily suggesting that we switch. Just saying that while this is a good suggestion it is probably a bit of ways off in terms of getting implemented.
