Why is it that when another country want's to commemorate the past, no one looks twice, but when the US want's to commemorate the past, people feel that it's something wrong.
Enygma can't even post on PHPDev a happy 4th of July without someone getting upset.
Should we commemorate that day? Of course. Should we remember that day, yes. Just like Pearl Harbor, it is a day that will live on forever.

One question: Why is it when <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> hits the fan, and the US isnt' there, we get asked "Why aren't you helping, you have the power to help?", and when we do help, people ask "Why are you helping, it's not your affair?".Takuma wrote:One question.
How come everyone cares about those who died on Sep. 11 and not the poeple who were killed by America in middle east or suffering because of US... I'm not saying we shouldn't care but there's something wrong
And in response to your question: Everyone is obviously a reference to the US, because besides the political spokes person of several other countries, I doubt anyone else really cares. So why should American's care about Sep. 11 and not remember the other dead? Because who else will remember? Who else will really care? I don't see Bosnian's getting asked this question when they want to remember their dead, or Israelies.
Frankly, I have had enough of this anti-[Country] crap. People go around blaming the US for all the woes of the world. It's the classic example of everyone blaming one person. I am not saying the US is guilt free, far from it. However, we don't do it alone.
I could say a lot more, but I won't. Let me just say this: Anyone who wants to say a thing about any nation better know what they are saying. Any atrocity of this sort isn't something to be taken lightly. And if an Arab came to the boards, and something bad happened in their nation, it would be recieved with respect and dignity. But be careful your words in insulting other nations or people's.
I may be American, but that doesn't mean I am blind.
P.S. Takuma, I know you didn't mean anything malicious by what you said, the words you used however sparked something, and I had to respond. Don't worry, we're still cool.
I don't think there's something wrong about commemorating Sep. 11th.
There's nothing wrong about saying "no, we don't want anybody to die that way".
Don't let anybody abuse that day to demand a cut in rights of freedom or to make a call to arms. But just as little say "that's what you deserve" because there are many that may deserve death but for sure there are many who deserve to live.
