Help. I'm just an idiot i guess. Never really done any php. I am helping someone set up a website, and of course the shopping carts, etc., are in php. I have downloaded both expression and dreamweaver, and I can't run the index.php or preview it. Frustrating. I thought I set up the server right.
Anyway...can I set up the index as html...and some how integrate the php scripts to the shopping cart pages?? Is there an easier way to edit the design of a php page or should i just do the pages in html and run the php scripts? I get nothing but a freaking blank page. I am so stupid and behind with php. I am so confused....I think I used to be smart....but now I don't think I am one bit.
Any information or helpful links will be greatly, GREATLY appreciated...and if I get this done correctly I will sell my soul to you.....lol.
Thanks,
I am an idiot!!!

Re: I am an idiot!!!
Cant you just upload the files to a free host while you test and develop?
Re: I am an idiot!!!
Your php pages will only run on a server. You can easily configure your PC or Mac to act as a server
(loads of info online about how to do it, just google "run php locally on my Mac/PC" for tutorials.
Or, as previously suggested, just use some web space you already have, the server the site will end up on or
some freebie web space to develop and test. Just put a password on index.php and use test.php or blahblah.php as
the "real" index page while you're testing. (personally I always develop and test "live" online as you always get the odd glitch
and gremlin when you migrate from you local machine to a live server).

Re: I am an idiot!!!
Please update your original post and change the post title. "I am an idiot!!!" is not an accurate summary of your question and will actually make it less likely that people will click on your post. Change the title to something like "I need help setting up PHP". Also, please choose the correct forum to post your questions. This is a configuration-related post, so I have moved it to "PHP configuration". In the future, please keep these things in mind when posting questions.
