Im Wondering How Much You Guysss.....

Post by Dane »

Hello,

I have created a Online Gaming Website for clans to use. I will tell you the features of it......

PHP and MySQL Driven. The Graphics and Layout is pretty neat.

What it has to offer........

It has inside the admin control pannel.
Add News
Delete News
Modify News

Add Members
Delete Members
Modify Members

Add Match
Delete Match
Modify Match

User Sign Up For An Uncoming Match

Add Files
Add Links

Inside the admin control pannel it has a private news section where people can add news and talk, bit like a small private forum. Users can create a new post and edit etc depending on there user level.

Add about that clan
Add links.

.... Im wondering how much you would charge for it all. The layout, grpahics and all the php code etc etc.

Thanks

Dane

Serious?
I'd say $50-$100. It's amazing on what levels people are when it comes to payment, depending on state of proffession. You perhaps are working in the area of programming as I do it in my spare time for fun...

So the best answer is probably; "As much as you can get!"

[Sidenote]
I dont think it wrong with a salary in that dimension. Happy for you when you get those green in your hand. ;)

Hi,

It's difficult to say without seeing it. How good is it, what level of design ability is used?

I'd say approx £1000 - £1500 it depends on quality really.

Why not post a link then we can give better answers?

Cheers

Hi,

I would pay this much.

I would and have also charged this much.

Like I said it is difficult to say without seeing the finshed site. I am going on an assumption of 70 hours work at £14 - £20/hour which isn't that much as an hourly rate.

Cheers

Who would take you seriously as a coder charging $75 for 70+ hours of work? You work for $1 per hour? What kind of skills do you think that shows?

I get offers for jobs all the time from people who hire someone cheap like that only to find out its just a hobby to them and they get bored halfway through the project. i'm the lazy programmer garbage man.

giving yourself a reasonable rate only shows you have confidence in your skills.

exactly why i wanted to know how long he worked on it.
70 hours... $20/hr would show you feel you do quality work, so $1400.

since this stuff is probably done by some companies at this point that can offer it cheaper i'd consider offering it as $1400 but negotiable

I've found that being cheap gets you the cheapest people, people who will nickel and dime you for every change they want you to make down the line.

I charge at least $35 per hour, which is on the very low end.. because I already have a full time job. I bid high and I get the people that don't fret about paying on time and paying what I ask.

It makes for a much more pleasant experience :)

So far, a fair deal (more than I can manage) as I show them what I've done in the past. But please have in mind that we are probably working for different clients. I do work for those with no or less money.

Thats bad, I agree, but not everone are like that. Besides, thats good for you isn't it?

...likely but not only. Like saying that a nurse working voluntary for the Red Cross, is no better than the one at your hospital... Again, depends on the ones you want to work for.

if you're volunteering your web skills for the red cross thats different than charging $1 per hour for a gaming site. We all do things for free or cheap for friends or to help someone out.

however if a client comes to me with a project they want, I expect to get paid accordingly for my services.
