Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
We're getting paid for this (many of us, anyway). It certainly helps
Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
Getting paid for it definitely helps. Barring that, I think the best way to stay motivated is to find a project you're interested in -- ideally something you haven't done before, and perhaps just a little beyond your current ability -- and just go for it. Open source it. Get feedback and critique, and learn from it.
Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
@Weirdan,but am not sure if my skills are good enough to do a good application for a client, although i know i can write any simple app i don't know if it would be of quality like i would want it to be! i want to be good at things like most of you guys are,and that's why am always thinking i should continue learning till i feel am good enough.....
@Celauran il try the open source way and see it if will keep me fired up so where can i start on that
, and then guys u didn't tell me for how long i should program on average a day

Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
There's no magic answer and there's no average day. Do what you can when you can without allowing it to take over your life. Maybe shoot for at least one commit a day?
Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
@Celauran on commit as in one functionality a day or?
Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
However you like. Some days might just be a small bug fix, others will be new functionality. I think what's important here is just to get into a solid routine.
Re: HOW TO CRUSH MY CODING LAZINESS
@ Celauran thank's that helps.now let me work it into a routine of everyday

No use overthinking things. Use the "Nike apporoach." Just do it.
You aren't going to do it by wearing the right color of shirt. Or by combing your hair differently. Or by getting a different chair. Or by reading motivational books. Or by putting motivational music on. If you want to quit being lazy, you have to just quit being lazy.
