I now have a 1920x1020 monitor connected to my laptop.
I'd like to be able to change the res on my big monitor so the start bar etc are all smaller so i can fit more on screen.
Is this not possible because it is a 1920 monitor, or can it be altered to fit more on screen, or is it going to be a larger version of my laptop 1920 monitor?
Laptop is 17". Monitor is 24".
Can you change resolution on PC monitor when connected?

Make sure your drivers are up to date, but if your laptop still won't let you change to a higher resolution then you can't change to a higher resolution.
Only other thing I can think of is that, depending which Windows you have, you may be able to resize the taskbar to something smaller. Like, a few pixels smaller. Not going to make much of a difference.

Drivers are up to date. I think 1920 is the highest windows can go.

Windows can go higher - it's your laptop that doesn't support it.

Yeah. And I've found out if my monitor is 1920, then going higher will distort things.
Thanks anyway.
