Just wondering what people do for a living in here

I = Webmaster for a medium sized mail order company

luckily its slow now so I can just spend all day learning php :wink:

I'm in the Air Force, a little between projects this week so I have more time to brush up on general skills. I use PHP at work, but most of my PHP experiences comes from working on my Master's thesis part-time.

I'm currently a full-time student at Ursinus College (Please excuse our horrendous webpage, I had nothing to do with it), and I'm working a summer internship creating a PHP website.
Besides that, I'm (hopefully) playing club level Ultimate Frisbee this fall.

"webmaster" - heh....what a term.

I largely do PHP coding and sysadmin work, with a little bit of management on the side. Since I'm one of three developers for a company that has tens of thoudands of customers, you can imagine I'm pretty busy.

so, that's me....yipee.

Hehe... I'm a 3rd shift manager at a local grocery store (the pay is great BTW)... I handle EvilWalrus.com in the little spare time I have anymore, and besides that, I work daily on PHP::IRC (an upcoming release on the Devnetwork :twisted: )

I am a developer (and jack of all trades) for an engineering site at a medium sized company. Here is a generalized synopsis of the projects concept:
This is a site where customers can configure their custom (stainless steel commercial kitchen equipment) on-line. This info then gets dumped into a queue where Pro/E parametric design software takes the info and creates a 3-D model of it. AutoCad drawings are then mailed to the customer and if the customer approves the drawings, the Pro/E system can send everything to a laser cutter to begin the building process as all of the engineering for the equipment has already been done.

I also go to school and am going to graduate from CMU in may with a computer science degree with minors in geology and mathematics. Mix that in with getting married in October and taking care of my six-year-old daughter and I manage to keep pretty busy.

I am about to start a new job at a locally owned telecom where my main duty will be "Webmaster" , but will also be active in development, isp management, network admin, and anything else that has to do with a telephone company, plus we are bringing in video over the dsl because there is no cable available in the area, so I guess we'll be the cable company too.

I don't do much. I sit around all day, staring past my dual monitor system and out the 16th floor windows in my nice office with my nice cushy chair and day dream. Every so often I post to the forums, and when Piera needs it, I say "Hi".

Other than that, I am ye-old PHP guru here at the office, where I pretty much do anything and everything that needs getting done (This includes designing sites, fixing sites, database work, more PHP coding, relaxing in the bosses office talking about anything but work, relaxing in the bosses office talking about anything to do with work, and playing games, seriously).

Ah yes, playing games is the best part, but hey, it's what we build. :D

Lol jason... I have to also admit gaming is becoming a big thing here... I recently bought and xbox and am completely hooked on halo... can't wait to take it online.

But for the remainder I am a visual artist (with degree) basicly... do anything that I think could result in something beautiful. Painting mostly but anim, audio and all sorts of other stuff too.

Right now most of my money, I make as a freelance part time sound technician for a regional radio station (night shifts mostly).
