Theres also a few programs out that let you use Gmail as a backup. You basically install the software and it adds a new disk to your computer and when you place things in that disk it uploads them to gmail. Another nice use for gmail i think - ive got 6 invites left so i could basically have a free 7gb of backup space.

http://desktop.google.com seems slightly pretentious but is very useful in practise.
