[SOLVED] Run a apache NOT as a service

Post by Chris Corbyn »

Can I run apache2 NOT as a service? (Windows 2k)

I just wanna start the executable running and kill it when I'm done. See, I have it on a USB drive so i can run it at work but I don't think I have permissions to install services (even if I could I'd probably get told off if I forgot to uninstall the service at the end of my shift).

Cheers :-)

DOH.... how stupid am I..

Just got to work, and tried installing the service (temporarily). Wouldn't have it.

Then I double clicked on the apache.exe and a console window opens and just sits there (me thinks it's hanging and not working).

After trying the double click apache -> see boring plain black window a few times a typed "localhost" in IE..

He he.... that's it... I have a apache and PHP running from a USB drive :-)
