manage a domain with samba

Post by tonguim »

Hi,

i've a pdc samba installed and configured on debian sarge; the clients computers are win xp pro; from the win xp users, i can access to samba; how can i do that anyone who don't have an account on samba can't log on into the win xp computers? thanks.
I mean nobody can log on a computer wchich belong to my domain if he don't have an account on my samba server.

All the windows computers are in the same workgroup than the samba server.

Thank you

They can do a local logon (given they have a local account on the computer) instead of a domain logon..

I agree with you, the users can do a local logon. I would like that they can log on even locally, if only they have an account on samba

Err... the concept of logging on a domain is exactly that you can keep the passwords in a central place...
