New Award Suggestion

Post by Luke »

I suggest we ***Officially*** add the award mentioned in my signature to PHPDN's annual awards. This may seem like a stupid suggestion, but this will save the server from having to load "Self-proclaimed & Unofficial" every time I post. This is a big deal!

Doing so would require actual criteria to help determine what a John Eaton like person consists of.

Further, it would mean that you would have to remove your sig. Can't have someone claiming to have an award someone else might win.

And thats the real killer - someone else might win it, and are you ready to accept that? Then what? Make another award and unofficial status THAT award, and ask the mods to make THAT award official?

I think you are in the best possible position - a guaranteed lock on an award, and no one competing.

Thats a big deal. Don't screw it up.. you might not like the outcome!

There would be no competition...
I AM the most John Eaton-like person here. There is no contest. Easy.

As for criteria... there is only one thing that you have to be:
John Eatonish.

If there is no competition, you can't receive an official award.

If you want an official award, it has to be a category that others could win.

I'm going to find a John Eaton that has no middle name, and he will therefore be more John Eatonish then you. I will then pay him $10 to sign up onto the forums and post, challenging your winning of the award.

My name is actually Luke. The name John Eaton has nothing to do with why I am John Eatonish. I just am.

'John Eating' to me, is a little........(many more dots) on the 'raunchy' side and thus i have always questioned why you would want to be the one who does the 'most' of this behavior. Just my input.

PHPDN awards will, of course, rely on category-suggestions, so if you wan't to have your own award category: suggest away.

On a little side-note: the winning categories usually receive more than 1 vote, but I see you've already started campaigning, Ninja Space Goat.

For someone with two awards to complain that a made-up award category, (self-proclaimed and awarded to boot!), that no one else could compete for (by your definitions of the award).. didn't get added to the list...

Thats pretty close to completely arrogant, rude, and self-absorbed behavior.

Take pride in what you did win, and in the mods being generous enough to do awards fairly at all. They can always turn off all signatures for all users, and end the pettiness entirely.

Or would you rather be positive and move on?
