"Why Unix is better.... by Microsoft"

Post by BDKR »

For all you Linux or *nix people out there, there is an interesting paper that was cirulated internally at MS comparing Unix to Windows. If you're tired of looking at code and need a break for awhile, like me, take a look.

Thats fantastic. I remember checking about 18 months after MS had bought Hotmail and they still weren't running it on MS product. We all know why, and apparently so did they. My favorite bits:
A Microsoft property should eat its own dogfood
... thats definitely "food" right?
It’s easy to look at a UNIX system and know what is running and why. Although its configuration files may have arcane (and sometimes too-simple) syntax...
... "too simple"???

Yeah, I caught that part about too simple also. Strange! What do they think it should be?

Anyways, it's good in one respect to see that the honesty of the writer. It's just too bad that this guy isn't running anything considerable concerning how they do business.
