Re: Three 0's in a row!
I was tempted to make such an assertion myself by I refrained; statistics only tell you so much. If we could look at the more recent activity in isolation we might be able to assess with more confidence but even that doesn't account for major changes (a la butterfly effect) such as Everah getting hit by a lorry. Sorry Everah, rest assured we all hope you don'tSo Everah's still pulling away.... damn!
Posting in moderation, I like to say. Even so 2,000+ posts is a lot in anyone's books. I've never seen a forum with so many members above 10,000. It's actually kinda crazy. I really don't know how you guys average 7 a day. Doesn't it get saw?ole obviously has some form of life....
I used to post a lot more than I do now but one day I decided that both actually writing code and reading about it from good authors is, more often than not, a better use of my time. Don't get me wrong forums are great, especially this one but beyond a certain point it's value starts to diminish. For this reason, to me, post counts similar to Everah's represent a great deal of unselfishness, presuming all the posts aren't in the General Discussion board. So well done everyone and go and help yourself to a slice of my lovely birthday cake.... oh wait, I ate it all. Sucks to be you!!

Re: Three 0's in a row!
Post counts, averages and the what not can be deceiving. From the day I joined it took me almost a year and a half to reach one hundred.
Between February and August of 2006, I had put up almost 6,000 posts. In August of 2006, I ad about 8,300 posts. Becoming a moderator adds to post counts significantly as there are moderator discussions that add to post count. Being an admin means a lot more posting as well.
However, if you look at a guy like feyd, his daily average is just about spot on. With the exception of two periods in which he stayed away from the forum, I have literally seen his post count grow by 20 to 50 posts a day.
Mine grow too, but not like that.
And what is a lorry? That was funnier than hell, but I am sure it would be funnier if I knew what it was. Idea A: a bus or large vehicle of some sort. Idea B: That hairy beast with big eyes and short legs who wore black tennis shoes that lived with the evil scientist from the Bugs Bunny cartoon. Yeah, I will go with Idea B until someone sorts things out for me and sets me straight.

I think it's like a Lorax:

They'll <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> your <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> up if you cross one!

Re: Three 0's in a row!
I just found out the voice sounded like that of Peter Lorre (pronounced Lor-ry). See, I knew there was a reason I thought that thing was a lorry.A really cool cartoon archive wrote:Hair-Raising Hare – 1946 -- Bugs is pursued by a hairy, orange, sneaker-wearing monster through the castle of the evil scientist with a voice that sounds like Peter Lorre.

I believe that monster's name was Gossamer, not Lorry. Now that is obscure even for trivia.

The one labelled "Chiefly British" in the dictionary entry. Your ideas were funny though.
