PHP Volunteer for hire

Post by Spartan101 »

Hi,

I'm looking to build up a portfolio and am offering my assistance for free as a PHP Coder in order to achieve this. I'm currently working on the following site with Joomla! the Content Management System at http://www.portal-gaming.com. I work full-time as a Product Developer (effectively a java programmer) so although I don't have experience in Web Design, I do have experience with working with large business applications. Preferably i would be more interested in working on a more challenging project than just build a simple website possibly working with a CMS. You must be understanding that I have a full-time job Mon-Fri so would only be contactable in the evenings and at weekends due to this. I'm a person who is open to using existing technologies and of the firm belief that there's no point in reinventing the wheel, so am constantly on the lookout for newer / easier ways of achieving objectives.

I've been studying PHP for well over a year now and would like to join a team of people who can take me under their wing perhaps with the option of collaborating more if things work out. At present I wouldn't be interested in working solo on a project as I'm interested in learning from

I'm from the uk, have a uni degree in Computer Science, understanding of database design, OOP principles, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Apache, PHP, Java, Javascript, XHTML and CSS.

Please pm/email me if you have any interesting propositions and I will get back to you with my response. Preferably you should be from Europe/UK as opposed to America as it can be difficult to work on projects with DST being out by -5 hours

Look forward to hearing from you.
