Post by suresh_2220 »

Hi,

Does any one have any feedback regarding firefox 3. I like firefox 2 , but i heard Firefox 3 got released. I want to make sure that is there any bugs, buffer overflow, Security risk in Firefox 3 before using them.

No, it's scheduled for mid-June. Release candidate 1 is available though, and there will be RC2 before final release.

For sure, there are bugs and security risks, and there will be. Can't guarantee you that there are buffer overflows though, but I suspect there are. It's software.

I think it was released today!

I installed the latest beta version a few weeks back for fedora 9. It was quite impressive in speed. Unfortunately very few addons/plugins work with it (i.e firebug, fireftp etc).

I noticed that css floats behaved differently in FF3 than they did in FF2 hopefully this will be resolved and not follow in Microsoft's footsteps where every browser behaves differently.
